Bereaved families visiting the base
As part of the lifelong process of understanding and adjusting to the death of someone important in their lives, people may request to visit the base. This can be important in supporting people in the ‘tasks of mourning’*:
- To accept the reality of the loss
- To process the pain of grief
- To adjust to a world without the person who has died
- To find an enduring connection with the person who has died in the midst of embarking on a new life
